According to a report from Tz journalist Philipp Kessler (as captured by @iMiaSanMia), Bayern Munich might seek to replace Leon Goretzka with internal resources in the summer of 2026:
With Leon Goretzka
having little to no prospects of a new contract beyond the summer, Bayern are expected to replace him with a talent, as a fourth option in midfield behind Kimmich, Pavlović and Bischof. Internally, Javier Fernández, David Santos Daiber, and loanee Noel Aséko Nkili are all potential candidates.
However, the Bavarians could also look for a young talent outside the club as well with RSC Anderlecht’s Nathan De Cat and Hertha Berlin Kennet Eichhorn being specifically named:
Nevertheless, the club’s management is also exploring the transfer market, with the likes of Nathan De Cat and Kennet Eichhorn as candidates. The latter is particularly high on Bayern’s shortlist. He has a release clause of around €12.5m. Bayern are prepared to offer a total package (transfer fee, salary, bonuses) of €25m for Eichhorn.
In addition to those aforementioned players, Bayern Munich has also been linked to AZ Alkmaar 19-year-old Kees Smith as well, but the competition for Smit could be fierce and drive the price up.
Whatever happens, it truly does appear as if Goretzka days with Bayern Munich are numbered.
