A somewhat strong lineup for Chelsea took the pitch to face AC Milan in Jakarta, Indonesia. In the penultimate match of preseason for both sides, neither seemed too hurried to break the deadlock.
In the not so eventful event Chelsea were the best side thanks to at least forcing young Milan goalkeeper, Lorenzo Torriani, a couple of times. Eventually the barrier was breached with João Pedro rising highest in the box in a corner play to get the Blues the opening goal in the nick of the first half.
The
second part could have gone in the same direction. But with Milan giving up a goal in the first minute of the half and Moisés Caicedo following suit five minutes later, the scoreline turned quite ugly for the Italians.
As much as they wanted to at least save face and pull one back against the Blues, Chelsea were having none of that. And so we sailed to a clean sheet.
