The Allianz Arena is about to enter a new phase of preparation ahead of the 2026/27 season.
After hosting its summer concert series, Bayern Munich’s iconic home is now preparing to return to its primary purpose: football. With the concerts coming to an end, work is underway to install new grass at the Allianz Arena, ensuring the pitch is ready for another demanding campaign.
The summer concerts have once again brought thousands of fans through the stadium, giving the Allianz Arena a very different
atmosphere from the one Bayern Munich supporters are accustomed to during the season. Now, the focus shifts back toward the pitch and the football that will soon take center stage.
The surface must be ready to handle Bayern Munich’s packed schedule, from Bundesliga matches to Champions League nights and DFB-Pokal fixtures. A quality pitch can make a major difference over the course of a long season, particularly for a team that wants to play fast, technical football.
For Bayern Munich supporters, the sight of the new grass being installed is another reminder that the new season is getting closer.
Historically, though, the grass will typically last and be in good condition until there is an NFL game at the stadium. This season, the New England Patriots and Detroit Lions play at the Allianz Arena on November 15th. If things hold to form, the grass will have to be replaced at that point.
