What little data we get about the performance of WWE Raw on Netflix is here. It comes from the streamer itself via their Tudum website.
Tudum ranks Netflix’s Top 10 shows by weekly number of views, which it calculates by dividing the time all subscribers spent watching a program by its duration. The default is a global ranking, which is also the only one where Netflix shows its work (e.g. the numbers behind the ranking). You can view the Top 10 for each country Netflix is in, but that only gives you
a ranking, no numbers. Similar ranked lists are available for shows in English, one for shows in all other languages, and corresponding Top 10s for movies.
The latest Raw we’re getting Netflix’s numbers for streamed live from Brooklyn’s Barclays Center on Jan. 5, which means it premiered Monday evening in the United States. The episode was not only the first anniversary of the premiere of WWE’s flagship program on the streaming giant, it also tied into Netflix’s mega-hit Strange Things (at least a bit). Wrestling-wise, the show CM Punk successfully defending the World Heavyweight title against Bron Breakker, Becky Lynch reclaiming Women’s Intercontinental gold from Maxxine Dupri, and RHIYO winning the Women’s Tag belts from Kabuki Warriors.
That was just enough to get Raw back into Netflix’s Global Top 10 to start the year, so we can tell you the episode had 3.2 million views. That’s 700K more than the last episode to qualify for the Global Top 10, which was a month ago (Dec. 8). Stranger Things 5 still took up half that list, but it was dethroned at the top by WWE superfan Jon Bernthal’s action romantic comedy series with Tessa Thompson, HIS & HERS, at the top this week with 19.9 million views. In the United States, Raw rose two places to finish sixth in WWE’s home market.
We’ll keep tracking Raw’s “views” data here… when its in the global Top 10. Whatever we get about each week’s performance will be added to our regular rundown of Raw’s TUDUM-reported performance for each episode of the Netflix Era:
