There’s no need to get fancy with this post! It’s extremely straightforward.
September baseball is upon us, and the Yankees are in a tight race with the Blue Jays and Red Sox for the AL East crown and a potential first-round bye. Yes, there are factors that have made
reaching this point tedious, but this is the reality! Entering the Yanks’ first series of September on Tuesday against Houston, Toronto held a 2.5-game lead over New York and Boston, who were in a mathematical tie. It’s worth noting that the Blue Jays hold a tiebreaker over both the Yankees and Red Sox, and the Red Sox hold the tiebreaker over the Yankees. New York does have the easiest September slate though, as their combined opponent winning percentage for the month is currently .497 compared to Toronto and Boston’s .515 and .514, respectively.
So with a month of play to go, who do you think will win the AL East? Vote in the poll below and we’ll check out the results later in the week.
