Juve wanted Boey (Fabrizio Romano and Matteo Moretto via @iMiaSanMia)
Bayern Munich had a chance to loan out Sach Boey to Juventus just before the transfer deadline, but declined:
Juventus considered the name of Sacha Boey on loan in the final hours of the transfer window as they were looking for a market opportunity to strengthen at right-back, but Bayern rejected the idea.
Bayern Munich overpaid for Boey back in 2024, which has ben made worse by the subpar performances that the right-back has turned in. With Konrad Laimer (a natural central midfielder) starting at the position
and Josip Stanišić eventually headed back to the spot when Alphonso Davies and Hiroki Itō get healthy, it is hard to envision playing an important role in the squad unless injuries happen.
At some point, Bayern Munich will need to figure out if it needs to cuts its losses with Boey.
Heynckes sees bright future for Müller, despite Bayern exit (Abendzeitung via @iMiaSanMia)
Jupp Heynckes is a massive fan of Thomas Müller as a person and a player and would like to see his old charge in the Bayern Munich front office.
“Thomas is in the late autumn of his career; everyone calls it quits at some point. It’s incredible how many kilometers he’s clocked up. FC Bayern must have given it a lot of thought. There are so many smart people working at the club and they know that such a deserving player should be integrated into the sporting management as soon as possible. Precisely because he’s a true Bavarian, an icon, a gem. Because he is smart and intelligent, he can lead people and connect them. But the role of an official also has to be learned first,” said Heynckes. “Thomas has a managerial profile, hardworking, clever. He understands so much about football and gives intelligent answers.”

Müller says scoring goals doesn’t always tell the story of a player (Säbener51 via @iMiaSanMia)
Bayern Munich legend and Vancouver Whitecaps star Thomas Müller thinks attacking players should be defined by more than goal scoring.
“When you score a goal, it usually masks your real performance. Of course, as an attacking player, you’re judged by goals. But I’ve always defined myself differently, as a team player. When I run towards the goal in a 2v1 situation, I always play a pass because that maximizes the probability of scoring,” Müller said.
Boateng admires Kompany (Sport’s Stefan Kumberger via @iMiaSanMia)
Jérôme Boateng is a fan of what Vincent Kompany is doing at Bayern Munich.
“I watch every game and still have many friends there, and I’m in good contact with them. That’s why I’m happy they won the title again. I’m also happy for Vincent Kompany; I played with him at HSV and Manchester City. He’s doing a great job. You can see that the chemistry between him and the team is absolutely perfect,” Boateng said. “He [Kompany] already had that special aura back then. He had a good way of speaking and came across well. But I’m not as critical of Thomas Tuchel as others, whom I had the pleasure of meeting personally and training under. Every coach is different. I think that the players didn’t perform to their potential during his time at Bayern. That’s a fact. People always point the finger at the coach first, but we have to be honest: There are many players who demand things but then don’t perform.”
Bavarian Podcast Works — Postgame Show: Slovakia 2-0 Germany (Bavarian Football Works)
The German national team hit the road to face Slovakia, looking to get off on the right foot for this round of World Cup qualifier action.
That did not happen.
Julian Nagelsmann — as he is prone to do — did some experimenting with his lineup and it did not work as the team dropped a 2-0 decision. The players were bad, the coaching was not great, and it was not a banner effort overall.
There is plenty to discuss from this match, so let’s get to it. This is what we have on tap for this edition of the Bavarian Podcast Works — Postgame Show:
- A look at the starting XI.
- A rundown of the scoring and substitutions.
- Some final thoughts and takeaways on the match.
Nkunku thrilled with Milan move (Fabrizio Romano)
After a few weeks of being linked to Bayern Munich, former RB Leipzig and Chelsea attacker moved to AC Milan. Needless to say, Nkunku is ecstatic with his new home.
“The first time I heard about AC Milan… it was special for me. I didn’t think too much, I said yes immediately,” Nkunku said. “I just wanted to hear about the project — and it happened.”
Rummenigge talks influence (Welt am Sonntag via @iMiaSanMia)
When asked how much influence he still had at Bayern Munich, Karl-Heinz Rummenigge did not hide that he still wields a lot of power.
“I returned to the supervisory board at the club’s request because they wanted stability and experience during a period of transition. The supervisory board is the highest body within FC Bayern because it has the right of approval for many decisions made by the executive board,” Rummenigge stated.
