Barcelona and Real Madrid will meet for the first time in the 2026-27 later this month when the first Clasico of the season takes place at Camp Nou on October 25th.
The game may still be a few weeks away but there’s already talk about who will referee the contest between the two bitter rivals.
An official announcement will not be made until much closer to the game but the decision has already been taken, according to Radio Marca.
Hernandez Hernandez has apparently been given the job again and will officiate
what is one of the biggest games in world’s football.
The match official was in charge of the last Clasico in May, when Barca won 2-0 at Camp Nou to seal another great victory over their rivals. The victory also secured Barcelona the league title, making it especially memorable.
Hernandez has plenty of Clasico experience already. He has taken control of the game six times previously. In that time Barca have won three, drawn two and lost once.
