Indiana football head coach Curt Cignetti addressed the media on Monday for his usual game week media availability ahead of the Hoosiers’ Big Ten opener against Northwestern on Friday at Memorial Stadium in Bloomington.
Indiana sits at 3-0 on the season with blowout wins over North Texas, Howard and Western Kentucky, not allowing a single point since the Week 1 contest against the Mean Green. Northwestern, coming off of a blowout over Deion Sanders’ Colorado, will present an entirely different challenge.
Cignetti was asked about Northwestern offensive coordinator Chip Kelly, new quarterback Aidan Chiles and the Wildcats’ early tendency for forcing turnovers. He also fielded questions about his own team, addressing the play of quarterback Josh Hoover, explaining Charlie Becker’s new role at punt returner and detailing the Hoosiers’ rotations in the defensive secondary with a focus on new safety Preston Zachman.
