Remember Tommy Pham? I completely forgot that that guy was in Lehigh Valley with the Phillies. I know that they needed solid depth to help in the minors in case whatever they had at the major league level had a problem. Well, Pham homered last night, so he’s still got it apparently. Unfortunately, that wasn’t enough as the pitching was bad enough (Drake Fellows: 5 2/3 IP, 6 H, 6 R) that any offense simply wasn’t going to be enough to overtake it.

Caleb Ricketts and Bryan Rincon had two hits a piece in game one, leading the offense to the win. Luke Russo had a solid pitching performance to help preserve a bullpen that had a doubleheader ahead of them, throwing 5 1/3 innings and only giving up four runs. In game two, the offense was a little bit better, Ricketts and Aroon Escobar have three hits a piece, Escobar sneaking a home run in there. Alex Binelas continued his solid season by homering as well while on the mound, Andy Seminaris had six innings in which he allowed only the three runs that Richmond scored. Sweeping a doubleheader is always a good day.
Frederick 9, Jersey Shore 7
Home runs by Robert Phelps and Mark Kolozsvary weren’t enough on this day as the Keys tagged a leaky BlueClaws bullpen for six runs, blowing a solid effort from Cody Bowker on the start of the game to give it away. The bullpen, in five innings, allowed six runs on only four hits thanks to nine walks allowed, something close to incomprehensible.
