According to a report from The Sun, Bayern Munich is exploring the possibility of a deal for Manchester United attacker Marcus Rashford, who spent last season on loan with FC Barcelona. One potential stumbling block for the Bavarians is Rashford’s €17, 500,00 pay (salary + bonus per Capology):
MARCUS RASHFORD’S £325,000-a-week wages are proving to be the biggest stumbling block in finding him a new club.
Bayern Munich are said to be willing to match Manchester United‘s £34.5 million valuation of the
England forward, but there is not the same enthusiasm to pay those sky-high wages.
Reports in Germany suggest Bayern are hesitating to pay those wages given that Rashford would not be a guaranteed starter at the Allianz Arena.
With the club nearing deals for PSV Eindhoven’s Ismael Saibari and Eintracht Frankfurt’s Nathaniel Brown, it might be tough for the Bavarians think about taking on a salary like Rashford’s, especially because he would conceivably be a backup to Luis Díaz.
While Bayern Munich has held long-term interest in Rashford, his salary would make it difficult for the Bavarians to get serious about a deal.
