A few things can be true all at the same time.
First, I am excited to watch Anthony Colandrea play quarterback for Nebraska in 2026. I believe he is going to be a substantial upgrade at the quarterback position in terms of leadership and mobility. The ceiling for Nebraska’s offense is substantially higher with him than it ever was with Dylan Raiola. The floor might also be lower as well. That is going to be on Dana Holgorsen to allow Colandrea to be himself while at the same time knowing when to take
chances.
Also, I believe Iowa is salivating at the idea of going up against Colandrea. They will do what Iowa does. Play the field position game and wait for Nebraska to make a mistake. Then they capitalize. Colandrea could fall into that trap.
The tweet below is a great visual representation of what we should expect from Colandrea through the use of four clips from the same offensive possession in a game between UNLV and Utah State.
Clip 1: Circular scramble to get away from pressure and makes a throw for a first down. I can’t help but think that one of his bigger adjustments will be that he won’t be able to do this as much in Big Ten play.
Clip 2: Evades pressure and gets free going to his right. Makes a great deep throw.
Clip 3: This is the one that made me think of Iowa’s defense. He stares down his receiver and the defender jumps the throw and luckily for Colandrea the defender drops a for sure interception. Iowa will not drop that interception.
Clip 4: The combination of this play and Clip 2 is what has me excited for 2026. Colandrea stays in the pocket and make a great throw for a touchdown (after the review).

Speedy Minnesota outfielder talks Nebraska baseball commitment
A strong showing at the Senior Future Games less than a month ago put 2027 Cretin-Derham Hall (Minn.) outfielder Isaac Feller on Nebraska baseball’s radar, and just a few weeks later ended with Feller committed to play for the Huskers.
The 6-foot, 165-pound outfielder announced his pledge to the Huskers on Wednesday, bringing to a close a quick recruitment that took off with a strong performance in Georgia.
Daniels sends cease and desist to LSU after Pickett given No. 5
An attorney representing Washington Commanders quarterback Jayden Daniels has informed LSU that it can no longer use his name, image and likeness, according to an Aug. 5 letter sent to Tigers athletic director Verge Ausberry, a copy of which was obtained by ESPN on Wednesday.
At the center of the dispute, according to a statement from Daniels’ spokesperson to ESPN, is that the Tigers are allowing sophomore cornerback DJ Pickett to wear the No. 5 jersey that Daniels wore when he became LSU’s third Heisman Trophy winner in 2023.
