According to reports, there is new money that is up to $107 million.
That the team would choose to give Sanchez a new contract rather than continue to let him play
out the one originally agreed to means they recognize that he has ascended to a new level among pitchers in the game and needs to be compensated for that. Good on the team for doing so.
