Denver Summit FC have reset the standards not just for expansions teams and the NWSL, but for all of women’s sports.
Today, the expansion side have announced that they have surpassed 45,000 tickets sold for The Kickoff at Empower Field at Mile High – the home opener takes place on Saturday March 28 on CBS.
The previous record of 40,091 was held Bay FC and Washington Spirit at Oracle Park on August 23, 2025.
“The Kickoff is going to be a defining moment for sports in Colorado,” said Denver Summit FC
President Jen Millet. “The Denver community continues to show why Denver is a soccer city. We want everyone across the Front Range to join us as we make history.”
With the tickets in high demand, the club has decided to open up the 500 level of the stadium.
The state of women’s sports continues to skyrocket with attendance and viewership records all over the globe. For Denver Summit FC they’ll have their name in the record books very soon.
