Liverpool Academy graduate and defender Hannah Silcock is on the move once again, securing a loan with Women’s Super League 2 side Birmingham City through the end of the season in an effort to secure more starting minutes.
The move was announced on Friday, after signing a new contract with Liverpool Women in August 2025. Silcock had been dealing with an injury she picked up during the match against West Ham in December and has only made four appearances this season so far despite signing the new contract,
but is expected to go right into Birmingham’s squad for this weekend’s match at Portsmouth.
Liverpool born and raised, Silcock joined the academy at the age of 8 and signed her first professional contract with the Reds in October 2022, after making her senior debut in the 2021-22 season. She would then go on loan to Blackburn Rovers for the 2023-24 season. She also has international experience, having been selected for the England at various youth stages up to the U-23 level.
“It’s really exciting to be here. It’s been on the back of my mind for a while and I’ve been really looking forward to it. I’m happy to be at Birmingham City,” Silcock said of the move to Birmingham.
“I spoke with Amy [Merricks] and Hope [Powell] and the project around the club feels really exciting and really ambitious. It matches everything I believe in, so it was a no-brainer.
“I want to get as many minutes as possible, improve myself and help get Birmingham back into the WSL.”
