Two former UCF Knights had a chance to go to Super Bowl LX at Levi’s Stadium, but Seattle Seahawks OL Amari Kight was the one who punched his ticket to Santa Clara.
After RJ Harvey’s Denver Broncos fell in the AFC Championship 10-7 to the New England Patriots, UCF fans had one more chance to see an alumnus have a chance to make the Super Bowl from the NFC Championship between the Seattle Seahawks and Los Angeles Rams.
After defeating
the Rams 31-27 at Lumen Field in the NFC Championship, current Seahawk and former Knight Amari Kight is on his way to the Super Bowl.
Kight played the first four seasons of his college career with the Alabama Crimson Tide and was part of the team’s 2020 National Championship team as a backup offensive lineman. Before the 2023 college football season, Kight transferred to Orlando to play at UCF, where he played his final two college seasons.
At UCF, Kight played a total of 25 games, which was three more games than he played when he was at Alabama. Kight went undrafted at the 2025 NFL Draft and later on signed with the Seahawks. Kight was eventually cut by the Seahawks during final cuts but was signed to the practice squad.
Kight later on got elevated from the practice squad to the active roster and played in a total of four games during the 2025 season. Kight got to play in the Seahawks’ Divisional Playoff matchup against the San Francisco 49ers. During the third quarter, Kight had an important block that led to a Kenneth Walker touchdown. Kight didn’t play in the NFC Championship today due to a knee injury.
The Seahawks will play the Patriots in Super Bowl 60 on Feb. 8, with kickoff scheduled for 6:30 p.m. ET. Super Bowl 60 will feature a Super Bowl 49 rematch from the 2014 NFL season. The Patriots won the game 28-24 in one of the most thrilling Super Bowls of all time, when Malcolm Butler recorded an interception in the final moments of the game to help the Patriots secure the win. If Kight’s Seahawks win, the franchise will win their second Super Bowl.
