It was a week ago today that the Dallas Cowboys changed the structure of their roster. Yes, only a week.
Last Tuesday the Cowboys traded for both Logan Wilson and Quinnen Williams and just about all discussion in the aftermath has centered on the latter, with all due respect to the former. Quinnen Williams is a franchise-changing type of player and it goes without saying that we are very excited to see him play a game for the Cowboys. We still have to wait about a week to do so, though.
Williams’ debut
will come next Monday night when the Cowboys visit the Raiders in Dallas’ first-ever regular season trip to Las Vegas. The last time they dealt away a first-round pick during the middle of a season was when they traded with the Raiders for Amari Cooper and incidentally his debut came on a Monday night as well. The Cowboys lost that Monday night game to the Tennessee Titans in what was Jason Witten’s return to AT&T Stadium as a broadcaster. Amazingly, he would actually return to the team and then also leave to play for the Raiders himself. Everything is connected.
Speaking with regards to Williams, what are your expectations for his first game with a star on his helmet? Expecting too much feels unfair, but obviously he is an amazing player.
