Barcelona president Joan Laporta has confirmed that Joao Cancelo is set to return to the club for a second stint.
Cancelo is due to have a medical on Friday and will then spend the rest of the season on loan at the Camp Nou from Saudi Pro League side Al-Hilal.
Laporta is happy to have the Portugal international back and thinks it’s more great work from Deco.
“Cancelo is another great signing by Deco. It’s not easy to make signings in this market,” he told Jijantes.
“Deco has done a great job. I want
to thank the player and his agent for their efforts. Cancelo is a great and very versatile player, and Hansi Flick has given his blessing to this transfer.
“He arrives tomorrow and will undergo a medical examination, and if all goes well he will be with us.”
Cancelo has been keen to return to Barcelona, despite interest from Inter, and will give Flick more options defensively for the second half of the season.
