Fresh off his recent appearance at Stamford Bridge for Chelsea Legends, we’re getting another delightfully heavy dose of Eden Hazard nostalgia as our legendary winger has been voted in as the newest member of the Premier League Hall of Fame.
This was Hazard’s first year of eligibility, and he joins fellow Blues John Terry, Ashley Cole, Frank Lampard, Didier Drogba, and Petr Čech in this honor. Cesc Fàbregas was also nominated, but unfortunately he did not get enough votes from the panel of “experts”.
Instead, Gary Neville is the other inductee this year.
Hazard was, arguably, the most talented (attacking) player to ever play for us — certainly in the new millenium, at play in his Garden of Eden, as it were. We can debate endlessly about greatest evers, but he was must-see entertainment every time he stepped on the pitch. We were privileged to have front row seats to the show for seven seasons (352 appearances, 110 goals) and six major trophies, including our last two Premier League titles.
Congrats, Eden!
