Maryland wrestling 149-pounder Carter Young is on his way to Friday’s NCAA Championships quarterfinals after two wins on Thursday.
Young is the only Terp in the quarterfinals, and it comes after a major upset victory for the redshirt senior over NC State’s Koy Buesgens.
Redshirt senior Braxton Brown, sophomore Branson John and redshirt sophomore Dario Lemus also competed Thursday,
but lost. John will continue Friday in the consolation bracket.
