Reports are starting to come in that Pat Fitzgerald will add Nick Sheridan to MSU’s football staff as the offensive coordinator.
Sheridan is currently Alabama’s co-offensive coordinator and quarterbacks
coach. Sheridan followed Kalen DeBoer from Washington, where he was the Huskies’ tight ends coach, to Alabama after the 2023 season. He served as the Tide’s OC and play caller in 2024 but DeBoer decided to give the play calling duties to JaMarcus Shephard and Ryan Grubb this year.
After ranking 45th in total yards in 2024, Alabama dropped to 81st this year with the co-OC setup.
Sheridan is a former Michigan quarterback, playing for the Wolverines from 2006-2009.
Sheridan would be Fitzgerald’s first offensive hire to his staff. He recently hired LeVar Woods away from Iowa as special teams coordinator. Woods will join MSU after Iowa’s bowl game. On defense, Fitzgerald has retained Joe Rossi (DC) and James Adams (safeties) and brought on Max Bullough (Co-DC, LB’s) from Notre Dame.
