The Michigan Wolverines will be facing a tough opponent on the road in the Oklahoma Sooners on Saturday night, and the injury status of a few key Michigan contributors is up in the air.
On Monday afternoon at his weekly news conference, Michigan head coach Sherrone Moore discussed the health of tight end Hogan Hansen, safety Rod Moore, and right tackle Andrew Sprague. Hansen has been sidelined since the offseason, Moore suffered an ACL injury last offseason and missed all last year, while Sprague left
Michigan’s Week 1 game against New Mexico.
Moore on Hogan Hansen: “Hogan is probable. We’ve got a really good shot for him to play this weekend. Excited to get him back. We’ll get him practicing full speed again. He’s been practicing full speed, getting contact, doing things. We’ve been very cautious with all of that. I’m not a doctor, like I always say, so I let them handle that. He’s been doing everything, and I feel like we’ve got a great shot of getting him to play this week.”
Moore on Rod Moore: “Questionable, possible. We’ll see how he feels.”
Moore on Sprague: “He was just cramping. A little cramp. He’s fine. Sprague is phenomenal. I love Sprague.”
From Moore’s comments, it seems like there’s a strong chance that Hansen plays, that Rod Moore is more of a 50/50 shot, and that Sprague is ready to roll. The good news is that even if Rod Moore isn’t able to suit up against Oklahoma, his return seems to be coming in the near future.
