Marcus Rashford is reportedly “resigned” to having to return to parent club Manchester United for pre-season training as Barcelona won’t pay the buy option in his loan deal.
Barcelona can sign Rashford permanently for £26 million but “have indicated they are prepared to pay only £13m,” according to The Times.
Rashford’s loan with Barcelona runs until June 15th, giving the Catalans just about two weeks to activate the buy option but that now looks increasingly unlikely following the arrival of Anthony
Gordon from Newcastle.
The report says Barca could offer half the amount which Manchester United would not accept. Hansi Flick’s side would like another loan but the situation will be complicated by Rashford’s involvement at the World Cup.
Manchester United are said to be keen to offload Rashford as they want his hefty £325,000 per week wages off the bill. Rashford has also said he wants to stay at Barcelona but it’s still not clear what will happen next with the England international.
