Kyle Tucker was removed from Tuesday’s game with what was termed “left calf tightness” — this after smacking a three-run homer.
After the game, Tucker said it had been bothering him a bit, but felt all right to play Tuesday. It felt worse during the game so he left as a precaution [VIDEO].
Also after the game, Cubs manager Craig Counsell said Tucker would probably sit out Wednesday’s game and, with the off day Thursday, would hopefully be good to go Friday afternoon against the Nationals [VIDEO].
So
while we wait for today’s lineup, let’s play a guessing game. What sort of arrangement will Counsell use for the series finale against the Braves?
As I see it, here are the choices.
- Play Seiya Suzuki in right field and have Carlos Santana DH
- Play Suzuki in right and have Kevin Alcántara DH
- Play Alcántara in right
- Play Willi Castro in right (as he did Tuesday when Tucker left the game)
There might be some other permutations here, but those would seem to be the four most obvious choices.
Again, while we wait for the actual lineup, here’s a discussion topic for you. Also — for those who have been asking, we are now able to embed videos without ads. You’re welcome.
