On the Kansas City Chiefs’ second possession against the Las Vegas Raiders in Week 4, the drive started with a quick pass to wide receiver Rashee Rice towards the sideline. As he turned upfield with the ball tucked, he suddenly pulled up and reached for the back of his left leg. He limped out of bounds onto the Chiefs’ sideline.
After the drive late in the first quarter, Kansas City announced Rice was questionable
to return with a hamstring injury.
The CBS broadcast showed Rice on a trainer’s table being examined as the offense continued the drive. Wide receiver Jalen Royals filled in and immediately saw a pass that was slightly too high for him to complete coming across the middle.
The possession went on the team’s other starting receivers stepping up in Rice’s place: wide receiver Xavier Worthy caught a 41-yard pass on third-and-10 to continue the drive, then Tyquan Thornton caught a pass at the goal line to tie the game.
