The Jacksonville Jaguars will look to further their lead in the AFC South in their first divisional game of the season against the Houston Texans in Week 6.
The Jaguars (4-1) are coming off a miraculous win in their first of two London games. My heart is still pounding out of my chest from that one. Jacksonville survived 13 penalties, critical injuries to Ross Matiscik and Anton Harrison, and a horrific redzone sequence to give Cam Little a chance to crush a 57-yard game-winning field goal. Which
he did. “Gritty not pretty,” as Foye Oluokun likes to say.
The Texans (1-4) are coming off their first win of the season against the lowly Titans. Their statistical odds of making the playoffs still aren’t great, but now they have Marvin Harrison Jr. in addition to a now-underrated quarterback and still-formidable defense. They’ll be bringing their all. “We know what Houston is,” Liam Coen said after defeating Philadelphia. “I don’t give a crap what their record is, I don’t care who’s playing, I don’t care who’s not playing. We know what kind of game this is about to be, and we’re going to have to bring it.”
According to FanDuel Sportsbook, the Jaguars are 2.5-point favorites against the Texans in Week 6. The total is set at 43.5 points.
What are your thoughts on the opening line, Jags fans? Is this a trap game for Jacksonville, or do you expect them to squash Houston’s playoff hopes?
