Manager Vincent Kompany has a lot to be proud of.
Taking over a near-crumbling Bayern Munich fresh out of a stint at Burnley was daunting, and yet, he handled it with grace. Keeping the classic Bayern style, while incorporating elements of his style and building Bayern back in the midst of this experiment is truly a remarkable achievement.
This has been well exemplified since the 2025/26 season began, with multiple major and emphatic wins both in the preseason and in the tournaments. Bayern faced Hamburger
SV, Kompany’s former side, from where he made his historic transfer to Manchester City. In the fixture, Bayern yet again proved their skill and prowess with an emphatic 5-0 win.
When asked about what he liked about the game, the manager stated several factors that played into the win, from the clean sheet to the atmosphere. “Clean sheet. 5 goals scored. Great feeling. Great atmosphere by the fans. We had a lot of fun. But we also worked for this win, so it was deserved.” he explained, per @iMiaSanMia.
“We had a very good start to the game, that helped. Everything worked well in the first half. In the second half we controlled the game and scored another goal. I’m happy with the result,” he explained further.
“We’ve been working together for over a year now – we understand each other more and the automatisms are working better than maybe the first few months of last season, when we had just started,” he declared, expressing his pleasure with the strides made.
With several major games coming up and some interesting Champions League fixtures as well, this might as well shape up to be his breakthrough season and we wish him the best for the same.
Bayern Munich returned to action in the Bundesliga by hosting Hamburger SV and just crushed the visitors.
The Bavarians took home a 5-0 victory in a game that was never close. Bayern Munich was dominant from the outset and wasted little time in giving Hamburg a not so friendly welcome back to Germany’s top flight.
