About Sacred Heart: The Pioneers were selected to finish third in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Preseason Coaches’ Poll (Baker Dunleavy’s former school, Quinnipiac, was picked to win the conference). Sacred Heart is led by senior forward Anquan Hill, who is a local product from Philadelphia, PA. He was selected as part of the Preseason All-MAAC First Team. Through two games, Hill is averaged 17 points and 8.5 rebounds per game on 59.1% from the field. Sophomore guard Mekhi Conner earned a selection on the Preseason All-MAAC Second Team. The Pioneers are coming off of a 92-80 loss at Duquesne on Friday. The Dukes visit Villanova on Saturday, Nov. 15.
Notes on Nova: The Wildcats look to start their first winning streak of the season after an emphatic win against Queens NC on Saturday. After initially coming off of the bench against BYU, Bryce Lindsay was moved into the starting lineup against the Royals. He is the leading scorer through two games, averaging 23.5 points and 4 rebounds per game on 46.7% from the field and 42.9% from three-point range. Graduate guard Devin Askew was moved to the bench as part of the change. Askew contributed 5 points and 4 assists in 21 minutes against Queens.
