It feels good to be in the win column. Not only that, but this Week 1 win feels a lot better than last year’s Week 1 win. Now, it’s time to start looking ahead to next week.
The Cincinnati Bengals will be heading to Houston to take on the Texans next Sunday. It’s a 1:00 kickoff on CBS, with the Bengals looking for a second straight 2-0 start to the season. They haven’t started 2-0 in consecutive seasons since 2014 and 2015.
Right now on FanDuel, the Bengals are 2.5-point underdogs. Their moneyline
is +122, and the Texans are at -144. The over/under on the game is 47.5
Houston lost a close game to Buffalo 36-31 in Week 1, a seesaw of a game that saw the two teams light up the scoreboard. Given the Texans’ defense allowed 36 points on Sunday, it’s reasonable to think they will be a little ticked off coming into this game and ready to feast.
But after the performance we saw from the Bengals’ offensive line Sunday against Tampa Bay, there’s confidence that this unit can handle the Texans’ ferocious pass rush.
Next Sunday will be the Bengals’ first trip to Houston since 2020. This will also be the Bengals’ first game against the Texans since 2023. The Texans have been a thorn in the Bengals’ side for a long time, and that’s something else that the Bengals are hoping to change this season.
