Wide receiver Malik Nabers is among New York Giants players not practicing on Wednesday as the team prepares for its Week 4 game against the Los Angeles Chargers.
That is likely not as alarming as it might
seem at first glance. Nabers is still scheduled to meet with media for his weekly press session on Wednesday afternoon. If there was a real injury concern regarding Nabers’ availability to play on Sunday, he would not be speaking to reporters.
The bigger news is that placekicker Graham Gano, who injured his groin moments before the opening kickoff of Sunday’s game against the Kansas City Chiefs, will not be available against the Chargers. Coach Brian Daboll said that newly-signed placekicker Younghoe Koo and Jude McAtamney, both currently on the practice squad, will compete for the opportunity to kick on Sunday.
Koo is an eight-year veteran who has kicked in 93 regular-season games. McAtamney is a second-year player who kicked in one game last season.
