It’s another week of the Mountain West Recruiting Roundup.
The holidays are over, the transfer portal is open, and recruiting news has exploded once again. It’s officially transfer season, and offers, visits,
and even some commitments are coming in at a rapid pace.
Keep in mind that not all transfers even report their recruiting activity, so what has been compiled below is far from the entire picture. However, the known picture is large. There were at least 50 known offers, with only five not going out to transfers. Then there have been at least 7 visits this past weekend, with more coming as soon as today and later this week. Then, there were four commits/signings at the time of this writing. For the purposes of this post, only transfers officially announced by the school are being tracked as committed. Air Force picked up a non-transfer commit, with San Diego State and San Jose State accounting for the rest. Also, the Falcons lost 2 commits, which isn’t uncommon between the December and February signing periods.
As for the cover photo, it goes to the Aztecs for getting two transfers signed so quickly.

Recruiting Calendar:
Starting today and extending through the rest of January, we are in a contact period (except for a dead period of Jan 12-14). This is the most open of the recruiting periods. All communication and contact is allowed, on or off campus.
Next College Student Athlete defines it as:
The NCAA Contact Period is exactly what it sounds like—all communication between athletes and coaches is fair game. Coaches can email, text, call, direct message, and generally contact athletes and their parents through any NCAA-approved method. In-person contact can occur on the college campus, as well as at tournaments, at the recruit’s school, and home. In other words, the communication floodgates are open, so take advantage of this opportunity to get unlimited access to talk to coaches.
