Lead Rumor: John Cena’s status
John Cena may be retired from his in-ring career with WWE, but he’s still locked into a “multi-year deal with WWE in an ambassador role,” according to Fightful. Additionally, they said, “The claim within WWE when we asked is that he wouldn’t be able to wrestle elsewhere contractually.”
Not that that was in question, of course, but one has to think about such things in a business like this. Cena himself said he wouldn’t be lacing up the boots, getting into
gear, or doing some of the things he’s absolutely done since the day he called it a career. It’s worth wondering just how far that can stretch.
We know, at least for now, that he won’t be doing anything anywhere else for some time. We’ll see if he sticks to not wrestling again.

Other rumors floating around
- The Wrestling Observer Newsletter noted the line from Becky Lynch about Liv Morgan not being the greatest women’s champion who has slept with Dominik Mysterio, which was lated edited out of the replays, was not her own doing but was rather in the script.
- Speaking of the referenced champion in that promo, the WON also says WWE hopes Rhea Ripley will be back in time for Royal Rumble next year.
- One more from the WON: There was great surprise within WWE that top Triple H lieutenant Patrick Dooley was let go and it was a decision that came from the very top of TKO.
- According to WrestleVotes, it’s expected that talent will be moved around from SmackDown to Raw to account for recent NXT call ups.
- AJ Styles said on his show that he’s not working full time at the WWE Performance Center but rather filling in for a coach who is out after knee surgery.
- False Finish claims UFC fighter Michael Chandler was at the WWE PC recently, although there is no word on if he is getting ready to finally do something in WWE as he has teased for some time.
