Former UFC fighter Isaac Dulgarian is facing further disciplinary action since his sketchy first-round submission loss to Yadier del Valle at UFC Vegas 110.
Dulgarian entered the contest as a massive favorite, but the odds swung in highly suspicious fashion at the very last-second, prompting a phone call from UFC CEO Dana White to confirm everything was on the up and up. When Dulgarian was quickly tapped out in a pitiful display of grappling defense, multiple sports books opted to refund bettors given
the questionable circumstances.
Immediately afterward, Dulgarian was cut from the UFC, and the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and UFC teamed up to look deeper into the incident. Then, the Nevada State Athletic Commission (NSAC) withheld his entire purse.
Now, NSAC has suspended Dulgarian while it continues to investigate the situation (h/t Curtis Calhoun). There is expected to be another vote next week regarding extending that suspension, as well as what to do with his fight purse.
It’s important to note that Dulgarian has not admitted guilt or been proven of any wrongdoing at this time. If the James Krause and Derrick Minner betting scandal from 2022 is anything to go by, it could take years before full information emerges from this investigation. Of course, there’s also a chance that the whole investigation if being blown out of proportion, in which case it could still result in a multi-year sit for the various parties involved.
