Luke Fox completed three innings, allowing a pair of runs as Glendale stormed back in the ninth, beating Peoria 9-8, with contributions from six Dodgers, none as important as Chase Harlan’s, sending everyone home in the ninth with a three-run shot. Fox had more than his fair share of running game situations to deal with, picking off a base runner in the first but then seeing the Javelinas unfazed by it, swiping a bag in each of the following two frames—both runs scored off Fox came in the third inning.
Cody Morse was one of the six relievers that Glendale had to use to wrap this one up and one of the two Dodgers, completing a scoreless frame despite a free base on balls. Sam Horn did not have the same efficiency and allowed a couple of runs in the eighth, letting Peoria open an 8-4 lead before Glendale’s massive game-saving rally in the ninth with five runs to walk it off.
Charles Davalan played second and batted in the leadoff spot and scored a run on a couple of hits, while first baseman Anson Aroz didn’t hit safely but secured an RBI in four at-bats. The star of the show, though, was evidently Chase Harlan, responsible for a third of his team’s RBI—up at the plate with two and two outs down two in the ninth. Harlan hit a walk-off three-run home run, improving his OPS to .959 in the AFL.
