Jamal Musiala opened the score in the 7-0 rout of Union Berlin where he was joined by Ismael Saibari, Harry Kane (with a brace), and Man of the Match Michael Olise with a hat-trick. Musiala played the entire game, a huge achievement, given what happened to him in preseason, which was apparently a step that Bayern coach Vincent Kompany wanted to take sooner than later.
“We wanted to take this step now,” Kompany said after the match (as captured by X account @iMiaSanMia). “It was important for him to get
90 minutes before the international break so he can brush off all the other talk. It’s all about football and performance, that’s what he should be judged on.”
The upcoming international break will be the first of (hopefully) many games with Jürgen Klopp at the helm. A fully fit and in form Musiala will do wonders for the Bavarians and for Die Mannschaft.
