According to multiple reports, unrestricted Free Agent Nahshon Wright signed a 1 year deal with the New York Jets worth $5.5 million.
The 6’4” 200lb five-year vet enjoyed a career year in Chicago after being drafted out of the 3rd round in the 2021 NFL Draft out of Oregon
State. Going from practice squad hopeful to weekly starter and eventual well-earned Pro Bowler, Wright solidified himself as a clutch playmaker with 5 INT (including a memorable pick-six in week 1), 11 PD, 2 FF and 3 FR. All numbers greater than what he had accumulated to this point throughout his entire career.
Wright joins Aaron Glenn’s New York Jets; the only team across the NFL who failed to get a single interception throughout the entire 2025 season. For a mere $5.5 million, I’d be comfortable saying that Wright should quickly out-perform his contract and finally earn his long-awaited payday with his performance during his age 28 season in the Big Apple.
He will be missed by Bears fans. I leave you with some of Wright’s top plays in Orange and Blue.
