Miami Dolphins wide receiver Tyreek Hill was carted off field in the early minutes of the third quarter of Miami’s Monday Night Football game against the New York Jets. Hill caught a 10-yard pass for a first down conversion with 13:21 remaining in the third quarter, but as he was tackled along the Jets’ sideline, his leg was rolled under him awkwardly. Hill immediately grabbed his knee and stayed down on the ground.
The Jets’ training staff immediately responded to Hill’s injury as the Dolphins’ staff ran
from the opposite sideline. Hill’s mother reportedly came down to the field and, after his leg was stabilized, Hill was put on a cart. Multiple Dolphins and Jets players shook Hill’s hand or tapped him on the head as he was taken off the field. The receiver waived to the crowd and clapped as he headed into the tunnel.
Hill entered the night with 15 receptions for 198 yards and a touchdown. He was leading the game with six receptions for 67 yards prior to the injury.
Miami took Hill to the hospital almost immediately after getting him back to the locker room, with his left leg in a brace and the trainers taking him by wheelchair to the transport.
