The No. 18 Michigan Wolverines (9-2) face the No. 1 Ohio State Buckeyes (11-0) on Saturday afternoon at Michigan Stadium.
If the Wolverines were to beat the Buckeyes, do they deserve a College Football Playoff berth? Vote below.
If Michigan beats Ohio State, they’d be the only team
to do so this season — is beating the No. 1 team good enough to get a two loss Michigan team in, even if they don’t make it to the Big Ten Championship Game?
Currently, even if Michigan beats Ohio State there are two teams who own tiebreakers over Michigan in Indiana and Oregon. Would a two-loss Michigan team be penalized for not making it to their conference championship? We have more questions than answers at the moment.
ESPN Analytics gives Michgian just a 21.8% chance of beating Ohio State and a 6.8% chance of making the playoffs. If Michigan overcomes the perceived long odds, it seems beyond reasonable for the Wolverines to make the playoffs for the fourth time in the past five seasons.
