Your Oregon Ducks traveled north to Seattle to face off against the Washington Huskies on Sunday afternoon, looking to get back in the win column. The Ducks got off to a slow start offensively yet again on Sunday,
making just one of their first ten shots of the ballgame, and falling behind 14-2 with 13 minutes left in the half. Kwame Evans Jr. would cut the lead down to just 7 points at 12-19 with about 7 minutes left in the half, but the Huskies would go on another run of their own and take a 34-19 lead into the half.
Oregon would cut slightly into the UW lead in the 2nd half, but never quite back to single digits, as the Huskies would take this one 72-57, in a game that was never all that close.
Another disappointing effort from the Ducks in this one, specifically in the first half. They actually tied UW in the 2nd half, with both sides scoring 38, but the 15 point halftime deficit was just too much to overcome. The Ducks were just out-hustled on the glass tonight, with UW dominating with an impressive 18 offensive rebounds, compared to one for the Ducks. Oregon was, however, very aggressive getting to the rim, racking up a whopping 23 free throw attempts in the second half. Maybe, just maybe, that’s something they’ll be able to build on top salvage something from this season.
As always, ‘Sco Ducks.
