Happy Sunday Husky fans. With a little bit of a lull in recruiting right now (for the next couple of weeks) I wanted to look forward to the Huskies junior day that is set for Match 7th & 8th. The Huskies are set to bring on campus a large contingent of some of their top prospects that weekend for unofficial visits and it will be a good chance for the staff and Husky fans to see which prospects are heavily interested in UW. Here are some notable prospects who have confirmed that they will be campus (note:
this isn’t an inclusive list):
4 star edge Zane Rowe from Denton Guyer HS, TX is set to make his way up to campus for Junior day. Rowe who is rated as a top 100 prospect in the 2027 class by 247sports, holds offers from around the country but is looking primarily at UW, North Carlina, Oregon, Ohio State, and Oklahoma. The Huskies have been very active in Texas and would love to land a player that is the caliber of Rowe. Rowe is scheduled to announce his commitment on the 13th of March which will follow visits to UW, and Oregon. I would keep an eye on Rowe and see how his unofficial visit goes (I suspect he’s an Oregon lean as of now). Last season he racked up 72 total tackles, 26 TFL’s, and 8 sacks for his team.
4 star wide receiver Dontay Tyson from Peoria HS, AZ is another priority target for the Huskies that will be on campus for Junior day. Tyson, who is rated as the 32nd best wide receiver in the 2027 class, has narrowed his recruitment down to AZ, Miami, Oklahoma, Tennessee, Texas A&M, Texas, USC, and UW. The Huskies have been very active in Arizona and already have a commitment from 4 star wide receiver Zerek Sidney (from Desert Edge HS, AZ). Tyson is a bigger wide receiver who has the ability to be a #1 wide receiver in college (he has a 6’1” and 190 pound frame and runs a sub 11 second 100). Last year in 7 games he had 448 yards receiving on 37 catches and 7 touchdowns.
3 star running back Elijah Kimble from Canisius HS, NY is another priority target who is scheduled to be on Montlake for Junior day. We have talked about Kimble before and his interest in UW (he is set to visit officially on the 29th as well). The Huskies are doing well with Kimble, but they have some stiff competition for him and will need to beat out Indiana, Miami, and North Carolina to land him. Kimble who is rated as the 15th best running in the country by 247sports had over 1700 yards on the ground last year along with 23 TD’s (he rushed for 9 yards a carry last year). Getting him on campus for an unofficial is a massive win for the Huskies.
3 star offensive lineman Lincoln Mageo from Oceanside HS, CA is another prospect who will head up to Montlake on the 7th of March to check out UW. Mageo who is rated as the 29th best interior offensive lineman in the 2027 class by 247sports, is heavily interested in Ohio State, Texas, UW, and Utah. The Huskies have been recruiting Mageo for a long time and have his former teammate Ezaya Tokio on the roster (a signee in the 2026 class). There are a lot of quality offensive lineman out west in the 2027 class and Mageo is one of the better interior offensive lineman available (he’s listed at 6’4” and around 280 pounds).
There will be a lot more names that we can share who made it campus over the next couple of weeks. That is all for today and as always follow me @asieverkropp.
