The New York Giants and Miami Dolphins will have a joint practice before the teams meet on Saturday, Aug. 22 for a Week 2 preseason game in Miami. Dolphins coach Jeff Hafley made that announcement Tuesday morning.
The Giants, due to the FIFA World Cup at MetLife Stadium and construction at their practice facility across the parking lot, will spend the early part of training camp at The Greenbrier Resort in West Virginia. Dates for that have yet to be confirmed, but camp figures to begin at the end of July
and the Giants should return to East Rutherford, N.J. well before their preseason opener Aug. 15 at MetLife Stadium against the Minnesota Vikings.
The Giants and New York Jets meet in a Week 3 preseason game at MetLife Stadium. In recent years the teams have done at least one joint practice prior to their annual preseason game. Paul Schwartz of the New York Post reported Tuesday afternoon that the teams will not conduct a joint workout this season, and the practice with the Dolphins will be the only joint workout this summer.
