Jordi Alba may have left Barcelona three years ago but the club remains close to his heart and he’s been keeping a close eye on Hansi Flick’s side.
The former Barca full-back has asked which players are his favorites in the current team and singled out one player in particular for praise.
“I really like Lamine Yamal, Pedri, Gavi, Eric… and Flick, who is a coach who is doing very well. But I think Raphinha has taken a big step forward since I left and since Flick’s arrival,” he told La Vanguardia.
“At
first he didn’t have a good time, it was difficult for him to adapt and he didn’t play what he wanted. Now I see him motivated, with a lot of confidence and wanting to be important at the club.”
Raphinha’s season has been disrupted by injury but he’s still played a big role for Barca, scoring 19 goals in all competitions, and is expected to return from his latest setback in El Clasico on Sunday.
