Incoming Bayern Munich left-back Nathaniel Brown will net both his current and former club a handsome transfer fee, thanks to a sell-on clause that was a part of his 2024 move from FC Nürnberg to Eintracht Frankfurt.
The information is detailed in a report from Abendzeitung, as captured via @iMiaSanMia:
Nürnberg hold a 12.5% sell-on clause for Nathaniel Brown. If the €55m move to Bayern goes through, which all parties expect, Nürnberg would receive around €7m [@Abendzeitung]
That is a substantial amount
and a good way for the 2. Bundesliga club to collect additional transfer revenue, which it can then invest into further improving the squad in a bid to return to the German top flight.
Brown played two seasons at senior level for Nürnberg, having come up through their academy ranks since 2016. In his two seasons at Frankfurt, he established himself quickly as a starter and then as a national team candidate. Now, he appears to be Julian Nagelsmann’s first choice left back and was one of the standout performers in Germany’s opening match at the 2026 World Cup, a 7-1 win over Curaçao.
