Alejandro Balde is reportedly “open” to a January exit from Barcelona as he continues to struggle for minutes under Hansi Flick at Camp Nou.
The left-back was linked with a departure in the summer but opted to stay and try to fight for his spot. However, he’s gone on to make just four substitute appearances, despite Barca being without key players in defence currently due to injuries.
Flick even opted to employ midfielder Brian Farinas against Alaves, saying before the game that Balde “doesn’t have
the confidence he needs to play.”
According to Mundo Deportivo, the situation means that Balde is starting to realise that an exit may be the best option in January to get his career back on track.
The report says that Balde is now “open” to a move, with Barca’s coaching staff having lost faith in the defender because they think he “he loses focus” and “doesn’t read the game well with when to press.”
The Premier League is being tipped as the most likely option for Balde if he does move, with Manchester United having previously been linked with the 23-year-old.
