Barcelona new boy Roony Bardghji has come in for praise after making his debut for the senior Sweden squad in a 2-0 defeat to Switzerland on Friday in World Cup qualifying.
Roony was handed some minutes
at the end of defeat, and striker Alexander Isak felt he was the only bright spot on a tough night for Sweden.
“Roony is a top-level player. I don’t see him as a talent who has a chance; he’s established. He’s where he is for a reason,” he told reporters after the game.
“I think he’s coming in with very good energy. It’s a shame for him that we’re in that situation and that we lost. But for me, I think he was a ray of light for us.”
Roony will be hoping for more minutes on Monday when Sweden return to action against Kosovo. He’ll then head back to Barcelona to begin preparing for a La Liga clash with Girona.
