After Week 1 of the 2025 NFL season, fans of the Cleveland Browns were already on “Jaguars watch” after their team started 0-1. The Jacksonville Jaguars won their first game, on the way to a 13-4 record, and handing the Browns the 24th pick in the 2026 NFL draft.
That pick, part of the Travis Hunter trade, turned into WR KC Concepcion.
The Jaguars watch has ended; long live “Rams watch” for the 2026 season. Much like Jacksonville ended up being in 2025, the Los Angeles Rams are predicted to be very
good this year after the Myles Garrett trade with the Browns. Unlike with the Jaguars, Cleveland fans will be on Rams watch for a few years moving forward.
In Week 1, in Australia, things couldn’t have gone worse for Garrett in his Los Angeles debut:
Garrett, who had missed much of training camp due to a lingering knee issue, was a part-time player in the Rams blowout loss to their NFC West rival San Francisco 49ers:
Sounding a little like his former Browns head coach Kevin Stefanski, Garrett noted he needed to be better, calling this the “worst”:
Los Angeles, which flew in very late compared to San Francisco, has a chance to get right with 10 days between games and a Week 2 Monday Night Football contest at home against the New York Giants. Barring catastrophic injuries and Garrett’s lingering knee issue keeping him “the worst version of” himself, the Rams are still expected to be a very good team and are still FanDuel’s Super Bowl betting favorite.
For just one week, Rams watch is off to a good start for Browns fans. Now, Week 1 for Cleveland’s team gets the focus. Can the Browns do what Garrett couldn’t and win the first game in a new era?
