MJF returned to AEW at Grand Slam Mexico with his Triple B version of the world championship. Just like CM Punk did in 2023, MJF is asserting that his belt is the real deal, while Kenny Omega and Will Ospreay are the ones fighting in a “fake main event” later this month over Omega’s toy belt at All In London.
Despite MJF’s claim about his world title being the one that counts, he still wants to win Omega’s toy belt for some reason. To that end, he competed tonight (Aug. 12) on Dynamite in a 3-way
match against Speedball Bailey and Nick Wayne, with the winner earning the number two spot in the Casino Gauntlet match at All In.
Before the match even began, MJF choked Justin Roberts for not giving him the proper introduction. Roberts corrected his mistake at MJF’s direction, referring to the scumbag as “The One True Champion” in AEW. Right after the match began, MJF got on commentary and explained that even though he is The One True Champion, he still plans to win Omega’s belt to prove that he is The Undisputed World Champion of AEW.
As for the match itself, babyface Speedball hit Wayne with his finishing move, only for MJF to toss his ass out of the ring and score the fall himself.
That means it is now Andrade El Idolo and MJF as the first two entrants in the Casino Gauntlet match at All In. Speaking of Andrade, MJF did a bit after the match where he played Andrade’s music to tease his surprise appearance, only to laugh at the fans when it didn’t happen.
MJF once again referred to himself as The One True Champion while trash talking Omega and Ospreay at the end of his promo.
