Sure, some people may be counting down the days to Christmas. You may have kids or a spouse that this is your opportunity to quantify your love for them to make up for the other 364 days that you’ve been
a terrible spouse or parent. Perhaps you’re looking forward to the roll over to the new year and with it the social gatherings that occur on the 31st with all their countdowns and kisses and getting blackout hammered and probably ending up sans pants in a stranger’s home (hopefully invited). Love that for you. For me, in this house, we will praise the oblong ball of synthetic pseudo-leather and focus more on things that actually matter… like MAC football and the college football playoffs.
When the bowls were announced a week and a half ago or so, Fearless Leader checked in with his rapid reaction and opening lines for each of the five MAC bowls. I have no option other than to assume that you immediately ran out and bet those. Good on you. Enjoy your new house. If you have diamond hands, then much like Gamestop or AMC in COVID times, hold. Kennesaw State vs. Western Michigan
Current Line: WMU -3.5

Fearless Leader’s Pick: Line movement in this game for me has made the spread a no play. If you were following along early, you got WMU -1.5, that’s free money. Still like the over but the 3.5 is not attractive.

Fearless Leader’s Pick: Liked it when it was Ohio +3.5, love it when it’s Ohio +6.5. Will marry an adjusted line to 7.5. Still think the over is the move, but I’m taking the Bobcats all the way to the bank.

Central Michigan vs. Northwestern
Current Line: Northwestern -10.5

Fearless Leader’s Pick: I’m staying away from this line currenrly. I got it at open when CMU was getting 13.5 The total has stayed the same and gun to my head I’d take the over, but this may be a pass all around with current odds.
12/27: Snoop Dogg Arizona Bowl
Miami vs. Fresno State
Current Line: Fresno St -4.5
Current Total: 42.5
Fearless Leader’s Pick: Line has shifted from the opening 3.5. So give me Miami and the additional point all the way to the bank. I’d stay away from the total unless you got it at open when it was higher.

Current Line: Oklahoma -1.5

Fearless Leader’s Pick: Gut reaction says Alabama +1.5 or perhaps an adjusted line of Bama up to -2.5 and the over. Knowing my fade-tastic luck that means you should very likely take Oklahoma and the under. Coin flip game.

Current Line: Ole Miss -17.5

Fearless Leader’s Pick: Two and a half touchdowns is stupid high for a playoff game and Tulane is a good football team. No one knows what to expect from either team, really. Ole Miss has a new head coach who was on staff all year and most of their assistants stayed amidst the Kiffin drama. Tulane’s coach is leaving but staying through the playoff. Give me Tulane but I don’t love it. I’m also on the under and don’t love that either. This may be a no bet kinda game and just hope for chaos for the personal jollies it will provide for me.

James Madison vs. Oregon
Current Line: Oregon -21.5
Current Total: 47.5
Fearless Leader’s Pick: Three touchdowns and a hook is an even stupider high number than the last one. On principle alone I have to take JMU and get 21.5. I also think the over may be the play, in a somewhat hedge move. If it’s a blowout that 47.5 is in play.
