The PPV portion of March 15’s AEW Revolution opened with Jungle Jack Perry celebrating his National championship win with his mother and sister. From there, we went right into a video of the next generation of Jacksons singling the praises of their dads and uncles Matt and Nick, The Young Bucks. Then the family helped with The Bucks entrance for their Tag title match with longtime rivals FTR.
Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler, with their wheelchair-bound manager Stokely Hathaway, were determined to ensure the Bucks didn’t follow Perry’s lead and win gold on their home turf. They bloodied Nick earlier, forcing Matt to fight alone. He leaned on his family to keep the fight going until his younger brother could rejoin it:
There were nearfalls aplenty, and at one point we witnessed a miracle. Stokely walks!
Nick Jackson eventually decided he needed to deal with Hathaway, and that may have cost The Bucks. FTR took out Matt after Nick flew to wipe out Stoke, and the younger Jackson found himself alone for an avalanche Shatter Machine.
The lights went out post-match, and when they came up, the ‘tron displayed a message that read “REVENGE”, with a familiar logo starting the word. Adam Copeland was back for the first time since leaving after FTR injured his wife Beth back at All Out last September. His long-time friend Christian Cage is back with him, and his entrance video reminded us he’s still an asshole.
Cage maced Dax, then Unprettier-ed Cash while Cope got to the ring and spear-ed Harwood.
Then they had some fun kicking Hathaway’s butt before laying the belts down in the ring as Matt & Nick looked on.
We probably don’t have too many Edge & Christian Cope & Cage runs left. I’m okay spending the next several months with them in a feud with FTR and The Bucks. You?
