Indiana’s men’s and women’s basketball programs have gone through quite a few alternate jerseys in recent years in the athletic department’s partnership with adidas. Several of these jerseys have popped up on retail sites long before being worn by the Hoosiers on gameday.
The latest drop may be the best one yet.
These were spotted in the wild by @rygi13, the fanbase’s preeminent apparel and graphic design mind. He’d noticed a few other adidas schools with apparel collections, including jerseys, featuring
the brand’s iconic trefoil logo before these went online.
The jersey itself retails for $100 on the Dick’s Sporting Goods website while the shorts, featuring a retro IU trident logo, are going for $70. The design notes also note that it’s a “Short sleeve, replica basketball jersey,” seemingly indicating that the Hoosiers will take the court in these sometime this upcoming season.
The “Indiana” wordmark on the jersey, number font and piping mimics that of the Hoosiers’ uniforms of yesteryear with no break in the piping for the logo around the center of the neck, which is present on both Indiana’s current main jerseys and the those worn by players under Mike Woodson.
Keep an eye out for these this coming season.
