
Former UFC flyweight champion, Deiveson Figueiredo, is coming off back-to-back defeats for the first time in his professional MMA career and could find himself on the chopping block with a third straight loss. Hoping to expedite the process is red-hot bantamweight bruiser Montel Jackson, winner of six straight.
They’ll hook ‘em up at the upcoming UFC Rio event on ESPN+, according to ESPN Brazil.
The Oct. 11 fight card, recently made official for Sat., Oct. 11, 2025 at Farmasi Arena in Rio de Janeiro,
will be headlined by the lightweight clash pitting former 155-pound champion, Charles Oliveira, opposite longtime lightweight striker, Rafael Fiziev (details here).
Figueiredo, 37, fell to 24-5-1 with his technical knockout loss to Cory Sandhagen at UFC Des Moines. As for Jackson, 33, he improved to 15-2 by outlasting Daniel Marcos as part of the same “Fight Night” lineup back in May. Jackson, who boasts eight wins by knockout, is currently ranked No. 15 at 135 pounds but could break into the Top 10 with a victory over the No. 6-ranked Figueiredo in October.
